Hourly wage to annual salary

What an hourly rate works out to a year, a month, a fortnight and a week. Pick your rate below — each page also covers part-time hours, unpaid time off and overtime at that rate.

Every rate from $10 to $100 an hour

Yearly figures assume 40 paid hours a week for 52 weeks, before deductions.

These pages use one common full-time assumption. For any rate, currency, weekly hours or number of paid weeks, use the hourly to salary calculator. For a week that includes extra hours, the overtime pay calculator splits regular and overtime pay, and the time card calculator totals a full timesheet with breaks.

Frequently asked questions

How is the yearly figure worked out?

Hourly rate × paid hours a week × paid weeks a year. Every page here uses 40 hours and 52 weeks — 2,080 paid hours — as the full-time default, and shows part-time schedules alongside it.

Are these amounts before or after tax?

Before. All figures are gross pay, with no income tax, social security or national insurance, retirement contributions or benefit deductions applied.

My rate is not a whole dollar. What then?

Use the hourly to salary calculator — it takes any rate, any hours and any number of paid weeks, in six currencies.
