How the numbers are calculated

Annual income = hourly rate × paid hours per week × paid weeks per year Average monthly income = annual income ÷ 12 Weekly income = hourly rate × paid hours per week Hourly rate = annual salary ÷ (paid hours per week × paid weeks per year)

Values are kept exact and rounded to 2 decimal places only for display. The examples use US dollars; the same formulas apply in every supported currency. See the methodology page.

$25 × 40 hours × 52 weeks = $52,000 a year, or $4,333.33 a month on average.

Salary to hourly

Part time with unpaid weeks

$18.50 × 32 hours × 50 weeks = $29,600 a year.

Frequently asked questions

Is this my take-home pay?

No. All results are gross income before income taxes, social security or national insurance contributions, benefits, retirement contributions, and other deductions. Take-home pay is lower.

Which currencies can I use?

USD, INR, GBP, EUR, CAD, and AUD. Enter the rate or salary in the currency you choose; results use that currency’s symbol and digit grouping, such as ₹1,37,500.00 for rupees. Switching currency keeps your numbers as typed. It does not convert them with exchange rates or apply any country’s tax rules.

Why 40 hours and 52 weeks?

They describe a common full-time schedule: 40 × 52 = 2,080 paid hours a year. Both values are editable. If you have unpaid time off, reduce the paid weeks. If your paid hours vary, use an average.

Why isn’t monthly pay the same as four weeks of pay?

A year has about 4.33 weeks per month on average, so monthly income here is annual income ÷ 12. Four weekly paychecks cover only 28 days.

Does this include overtime or bonuses?

No. It assumes the same rate for every paid hour. For weeks with overtime, use the Overtime Pay Calculator.
